Does anyone know whether the rapid lateral flow test needed for entry to Spain for unvaccinated travellers has to be supervised?

As long as the company provides you with the certificate required for entry, you can test at home or at a clinic. I presume you are purchasing the test and photographing the result next to your passport. Certificate will need t have show time of test and passport info.
You’ll need to complete the SpTH form as well.

I have just come back from the UK (Spanish resident) ,All I carried was the form that I got from the clinic proving that I had both vaccines and a booster. On the way out nothing was checked on the Covid front and on return we were asked to show our proof of vaccines which the person asking
hardly looked at and just waved me through as if he didnt want to be there. .What I did find strange was on the way out we were told that it was ok not to wear a mask on the plane and on return it was fully enforced that we had too , possibly unless while I was away there was a change in policy ( 4 days) or it depends who you get as crew. ( Ryanair)

Spain has not relaxed the mask rule for flights into Spain, that is why it had to be worn on the way back. There are still around 14 EU countries that still require a mask be worn when flying inbound.

That might be the case, however enforcement is a different issue. The message does not seem to have filtered through to all airlines or crews. We flew Ryanair from Manchester 2 weeks ago. The crew weren’t wearing them and their message was that a mask is advised.
