Have a look at the N332 Facebook page as they recently posted the up to date rules and regulations regarding the virus (the 11th edition).

Exceptions from compliance of (changing) restrictions (may vary for every "Comunidad Autonoma") include "undelayable" tasks w/o specifying what those may be and what not. So, some imagination is required (no problem for Spaniards) i.e. assisting a family member in need, an appointment at a notary public, continuing a pending medical treatment, see after your old and handicapped grandpa. Remember, wherever there is a will there's a way.

Hi, currently the travel restrictions are unfortunately no travel, there are exceptions and the list is exhaustive however they all surrounding essential travel for work reasons, legal appointments and some medical assistance of family members. The link below gives everything.

It doesn't include home ownership or access through testing or covid passports (yet) I don't think to will be too long now however if you are a resident in Spain and in the UK I think travel is permitted ?

The soonest you can travel abroad from the UK without essential travel is May 17th at the moment, start with our laws before Spanish law, the Spanish have said only residents allowed in I am not sure of the date that this restriction is to, we are also dependant on the current infection rates before they lift restrictions in the UK, we are all wanting to get back to our homes in Spain as soon as possible dont fall fowl of the law as this may jeopardize future travel for yourself.

I have just travelled 1800 km via the tunnel and did not experience any issues relating to the virus. In fact it was so easy when I stopped for fuel i asked the attendee how far is the Fench,Spanish border, looking a little perplexed he replied, I was 5KMS FROM BARCELONA.

 Take care. Jacko

Please explain more

Did you fill out paperwork to leave uk? what was the stated reason for leaving?

In France they say you have to have a test then isolate how did that work, or what happened at the point of entry.?

Were there any checks at all?

Did you stop over along the route?

Pm me if you dont want to post.

I boarded the eurotunnel at 5.18 wednesday morning where the french border control requested to see my passport and confirm my negative pcr results.  I was then waved through to board and was never stopped again. I didn't even know I had travelled across the border heading straight through to Denia. I just couldn't believe it.  Maybe I was a lucky one. In fact never saw any law enforcement in my journey.

Take care but please don't consider my experience the norm.

I am a Spanish resident so my comment is from that perspective. In the last six weeks I have been required to be in the UK for legal reasons, all documented. Each time I have chosen to drive as I do not currently feel confident or safe using airports or airlines. In my car I am in control. On every occasion different things have happen to me. Apart from the mandatory Covid test certificate the French have each time have asked for proof of residency in Europe. This has been achieved by producing my residency certificate. On the last trip the French border control officer was not familiar with a Spanish residency card so I was held up for around 30 minutes whilst clarification was sort. Once in Europe there are of course no official border control between countries belonging to the Schengen Area so road travel is generally very straight forward. What you do get in Spain is the random Guardia road checks particularly on the major routes which cross over regional borders. On the six trips, three to the UK, three returning, I have been stopped three times. Once on the border between Aragon and Valencia. My residency certificate was accepted and nothing else asked for. Leaving Valencia into Catalonia the officer spent time going through my documents requiring me to be in the UK and checking the validity of my residency. On a return trip in the Basque I was held for nearly an hour with the threat of a large fine being stated. As it happened they eventually relented and waived me on. This has to be balance with the three other occasions no one stopped me. So what the real issue is whatever documents you do have, and mine were cast iron legal, it's down to the guy who checks them. I have friends who have never been stopped whilst driving and other who have been given a bad time. Best advice carry every piece of paper proving what you are doing is within the restrictions and be prepared to defend.

Hi. I also travelled through the tunnel, but on Tuesday at 05.18. The French authorities looked at my negative pcr test. Didn't ask any questions as to why I was travelling etc. I drove straight through France, only stopping for fuel. I crossed the French / Spanish border without being stopped. I arrived in Torrevieja about 02.30 on Wednesday morning. I have heard of people being stopped going through the Somport tunnel but I travelled towards Bayonne and crossed the border by San Sebastian.
