That said, I am surprised that you didn’t have to complete a form giving your address for the next 2 weeks. The mind boggles!

We came back on a packed flight 3 week ago and everyone had to show they had downloaded and filled in the form - those who hadn’t had to do it before they could go any further. Last Friday there was only about 100 on the flight and no one bothered checking anything.

It’s frightening, hope you enjoyed your holiday.

I live in Berkshire and our local train service operates as Gatwick to Reading train line. The local doctors refer to the service as the "bug special" because patients come to them with also weird respiratory problems picked up on this train service from returning holiday makers, that was before Covid 19. Some years ago I caught something nasty travelling on this service took me 2 years to fully recover. So I won't travel on that service at the moment.

Just returned to Glasgow Airport 2  hours ago from Alicante/ Had my form filled out on my phone. No one asked to see it but heard people being reminded that they had to self isolate for 2 weeks.Son picked my husband and I up at airport  He made us sit in back of car with masks on ,happy to do this as keeping everyone safe. So now I have 2 weeks off work ,then am only working 1 more week and returning to live in Spain, retiring a year early.Happy days, just hope my fight isnt cancelled before I return. By the way I felt safer in Spain than in Scotland.

Just watching the BBC news and it is all about covid 19... it’s still with us even though it is easy to believe that we are back to normal . We aren’t .

We are far from it and I do not know what is to happen to people no matter where they live. The facts are clear, covid 19 is still attacking people here, there and everywhere.

My hubby and I are staying on the north coast of NI and it is idyllic. We were out earlier and although people were seated well apart, we were all able to interact and chat. Such a pleasant evening with no reminders of the pandemic. Sometimes I find myself pretending that life is back to normal even though we still have most of our food delivered and are not shopping the way we previously enjoyed. If I thought that we couldn’t get out and about , it would sadden me greatly.  Human beings are not designed to isolate but clearly, that’s what we will have to do again until a vaccine is found to protect us.

We have flights booked to go to Alicante on 31st August. I received a message from EasyJet telling me that I could cancel and rebook for free but I am loath to do that. I shall wait and see if the flight is still going and if it is and things are no worse in Torrevieja , perhaps we will go.

Here in Northern Ireland we have a very low incidence of Covid 19 so I feel very safe indeed. I am hoping that the masses from Madrid do not descend in Torrevieja this month carrying the dreaded virus. That being the case, I think quite a few tourists might decide to travel in September and October but that’s only my opinion.  Fingers crossed that there isn’t a spike in infections in the near future.

I ask everyone to pray for a vaccination. That’s the miracle we are all waiting for. Once we have been vaccinated, life can go on as it should. We need help.

I recently returned from villa joyosa and experienced a similar thing. We completed the government's on line form but after going through customs at Birmingham airport there were no further checks at all. We simply just walked out of the airport. I think it just highlights what a useless government there is in the UK. It took them ten days to introduce face masks !!!!!!

A waste of time and energy filling out forms for no one to even look at shocking. My son did filled out the form for me after asking us the questions over the phone and then emailed to me and my husband. When we arrived in Spain ,forms were checked before we left the airport.

Absolutely appalling.

It’s an embarrassment in my opinion. Absolutely shocking.

I work for the NHS and was phoned by my supervisor before I came home to remind me I would have to quarantine for 2 weeks without pay.
