I had the same impression, that batteries lasted longer in the UK - until I realised that here in Spain I tend to make fewer and much shorter journeys. In my case I am convinced that it is the change in useage pattern that explains the shorter battery life.

I was thinking that but I use my car almost every day and have a 30 mins drive once a week.  Maybe I will go for longer runs in future.

Only make longer runs if you need to, otherwise you'll be spending more on fuel than the cost of a replacement batterry every few years.........................
