The negotiations are ongoing and no one knows what the final deal will be or if there will be no deal, that leaves aspects of the media and others free to speculate. I didn't say there is nothing to worry about but these stories are just more scaremongering especially by people with a political agenda.

So what's the "political agenda" behind the head of the IATA's warning?

What does he stand to gain from highlighting this issue?

The Guardian, an anti Conservative newspaper,  has found someone to peddle their views.

His comments formed part of the findings in a study the IATA conducted recently.

Why are you so dismissive of this news?

I get that you think that "negotiations are ongoing" and "nobody knows where it'll all end up" (to paraphrase) but why are you so ardently committed to dismissing the thoughts of an industry expert?

This is what he does for a living.

Why would he bother commissioning the report if there wasn't a very real risk of it happening?

The mood here's grim.

There's no way May can get any deal agreed by the EU and, more worryingly, significant elements of her own party.

She's staunchly refusing to consider a Peoples Vote, despite over 750,000 people marching through London last week in support of one, so as things stand, the "no deal" option is looking increasingly likely.

And the government's own impact assessments show that it will devastate the economy and have far reaching consequences for Brits in the EU.

Honestly, John, you should be terrified about this, not just glibly dismissing it as "scaremongering" by a biased media.

With all due respect, you're in a bubble & you obviously aren't getting the same news we are in the UK.

All parts of the media and press can wheel out reports that they can use to support their agenda.

I am a Spanish resident so will only go back to the U.K. occasionally for a short break or family event.

Other than the Northern Ireland / Ireland border issue real progress has been made in the negotiations and a deal will be done on that.

I accept there was a large turnout for the demonstration but in reality the silent majorities democratic decision is what really matters.

Strange as it may seem but in Spain we can view British television channels and can get British newspapers, so we know what is happening. 

My final word on this is that a "no deal" is a bad outcome but I believe both sides want and will deliver a deal acceptable to the U.K and to Europe.
