Just would be interested in connecting with people or getting ideas about how to do so. Just finally got to visit our holiday home and are setting it up. Be good to connect with people living in the area about life here - retail, shops, restaurants etc. We are from Canada and unfortunately can only really converse in English. Just want to figure things out here!

Your location says Villamartin - so language should not be a problem! I suggest that you go for a drink in the bars/restaurants in Villamartin Plaza, where pretty much everybody speaks English.
Also try La Zenia Boulevard - which is a huge shopping centre with lots more bars/restaurants. Again, you'll hear English being spoken, and lots of other languages as well!

Joining a local activity group, such as a walking group is a good way to meet others - as well as chatting while you walk they often arrange drinks, meals etc - try Torrevieja Walking Group on Meet Up
