Hello. I live in playa flamenca and yesterday I purchased  a new bed. The shop explained to me that they could not take the old ones away as because the came from orihuela costa the ecoparque in Torrevieja would not take things anymore. Orihuela costa is the most  neglected area on the coast. All our taxes go to orihuela city. There is plenty of spare land where they could put an ecoparque instead of throwing up more concrete everywhere but the council do not seem to bother. I think it is shocking.

I agree, before long the buildings in Orihuela City will be covered in gold leaf, all paid for by us, whilst the rest of the Costa looks like a bomb site.

Why should Torrevieja be expected to stand the cost of disposing of another municipality's rubbish?

All you need to do is talk to Orihuela town hall and they'll tell you when to leave it out for collection by their bulky refuse vehicle.

You are joking. I understand why torrevieja shouldn't take things from the costa but it is a fact that orihuela town hall could easily make an ecoparque on the costa as there is plenty of land. No they just want to increase the concrete jungle.  So I have donated my beds to a charity shop on which I paid iva when I purchased them and the council can charge iva on top of what I paid to the detriment of the charity shop.

I have to say torrevieja is amazing now. Well done to the council that keep it in good condition. Perhaps someone good go to playa flamenca and la zenia and bring it up to scratch.i have finished on my soap box now but ivyhinkcwe all like to live in a nice tidy place.
