I have been following the threads on the various forums regarding the closure of the beach bars in the Orihuela Costa zone. I understand that there appears to be issues regarding licences for these facilities and appreciate that there needs to be regulation. What I cannot understand is the length of time it is taking to address the issue. We are now halfway into June and the Costa's are filling up with visitors and holidaymakers and absolutely no beach facilities available in our area. Go North to Torrevieja or South to Mii Palermos and its business as usual. It is an absolute disgrace that the authorities are dragging their feet in this manner and depriving beachgoers of basic and necessary facilities including toilets, local businesses from providing employment and indeed revenue to their own Government. Now perhaps there are member(s) on these forums who know more about this and if so an informed update would be appreciated. In the absence of this I am putting it out there that we, as residents and non-residents with properties here, collectively either sign a petition to the authorities or employ/appoint a person(s) to represent us to the authorities and express our disgust, annoyance and concern regarding these issues. I believe an urgent push needs to be instigated on this as the 'manana" approach appears to be prevalent. Opinions and suggestions please.

Wholeheartedly agree with all of the above concerns, it is incredulous that the authorities have dragged their heels on this, not only are they losing much neede revenue in the form of rental income from any prospective beach bar owners, they are driving people away from the beach areas, which will be affecting local tourist income.

I am a non-resident property owner who visits approx 6 times a year, and always endeavour to visit the beach bars of Playa Flamenca and Cabo Roig, and will gladly sign any petition and support any complaints process directed towards the local authorities in pushing for them to get this madness sorted out ASAP...

I heard that the reason the bars are closed is the the new council that was voted in raised there prices from €300,000 a year to €500,000 and company that was running the bars refused to pay there the same council that closed the Boulevard on sundays so that the people working there could spend more time with there family's
