Please don't tell me to leave it out and it will be picked up soon enough!

As far as I'm aware, Orihuela are still operating mobile eco-parks, where you can take items for recycling. I can't find the current calendar, but the following tell you what the system is:

http://www.orihuela.es/via-publica-medio-ambiente-y-territorio/residuo-solido-urbano/ecoparque-costa/

https://orihuelalimpia.com/ecoparque/

Alternatively ask the Orihuela Costa town hall at Playa Flamenca.

Ref your comment, if you did just leave it out for collection by a white van man, then if he could repair it and sell it he would do so. A recycling centre is likely to just recycle the materials.

Thank you for your helpful response Jim.

Both websites say that there is a mobile eco-park installed in the car park next to the Orihuela Costa town hall.  I can't say I've ever noticed it there, but I'll check it out!
