Hi all myself and my partner are going to get our residency in a couple of weeks, we have all the necessary documents and health cover. However, the problem is I don't work and have no pension coming in yet and no bank account in my name everything comes from my partner,  my partner has his account with over €100,000 euros savings plus he gets around €750 per month pension paid into his Spanish bank. The question I have is that will that cover me financially when I apply or do I have to have my own account and own money coming in? He owns a house and it is in his name too although I am on the padron under this address.

Thaks for any advice

We got our residences last week.

They wanted to see regular payments going in to  our bank account for the last 3 months, along with a suitable amount of money.

We set up a regular payment plan with our Spanish bank. Our Spanish bank account is joint names, and the funds come from a joint account in the UK

Not sure how you go on with out proof of any income for yourself, as i believe they want to see around €800 each being paid in to a bank account on regular basis/ or for the last 3-4 months

They also wanted to make sure that the health insurance was paid in full, and wanted to see a receipt.

It took 5 minutes and we got our green certificates there and then.

Hope this helps

Regards

John

It Varies on where you apply for residencey at on place you may not fit the bill at another you will best speak to a specialist normally 50-70 euros each,

Each area can vary - You need to check with the Policia station in your area that deals with NIE / Residencia to be certain.  You may wish to go through a Spanish agency for this and they can do almost everything for you.  Insurance papers will probably need translating to Spanish.

Just make sure you have TWO appointments as they only deal with one person per appointment.

Uma at getlegalinspain. She speaks English perfectly and can help with many things. Check out her website for details. All the best and don't forget the copies!
