Just reading your question and I’m wondering if it’s actually ORIHUELA TOWN you are supposed to go to. There is a building in the Playa Flamenca area called ORIHUELA TOWN HALL    My husband had to go there to get something signed when we bought our car. There are numerous department...

Somebody on this forum will know. Best wishes.

Haha..yeah I did say that to my lawyer but yeah it's definitely Orihuela town..mainly because its their main police office so I am told.if only it could've been in playa flamenca that would be bliss..thank you .

I’m sorry to hear that but thankful you are on the right track. Just a thought, could your solicitor do this on your behalf?  They seem to be able to do so much.
I went to Orihuela once and absolute nobody spoke English!  It was a shock coming from Torrevieja. We went into a smart restaurant and ordered lunch. That was an experience, we had absolutely no idea what we were asking for. Ended up pointing at people’s food at nearby tables. Nowadays, a mobile telephone could translate everything but not as sophisticated 20 years ago!
Would it be worth enquiring as to the cost of a taxi?  You could take the bus back but at least you’d be certain of arriving at the required address.

Good luck anyway.

No it's for my residency card and you need to appear with passport in person .I'm keeping my options open as to how I get there, unfortunately I'm in limbo as my uk driving photo  licence expired whilst here and that prevents me hiring a car.of course although I'm here as an Irish citizen brexit prevented me swapping my uk  licence as well..so it's taxi ,bus or my electric bike but I'm not acquainted with Orihuela town  which is 30 plus km from lomas de cabo roig.so if its 9 in the morning or thereabouts I will need to try get a taxi which is not as straight forward as it seems ..or the 7am bus ..so we,ll see..thanks in any case.

Check out the price of a hotel in Orihuela and stay overnight. Take whatever bus suits you and return whenever you fancy. You’d have a lovely stay and a chance to familiarise yourself with the location of the police station.  it won’t be expensive! We stayed in Murcia city a few years ago and it was very affordable.
cheers

Hi

Hope you got sorted with transport for your TIE appointment.

Can I please ask how long did it take you to get your appointment for your TIE and how did you make contact to arrange the appointment. We are also looking to book our TIE in Alicante with no joy. Just wondered if Orihuela town which is nearer has appointments.

Any information would be appreciated.

Cheers Ron

Hi Ron

Tbh I don't really know how this works..I'm using a solicitor ..I am an Irish passport holder and I think it maybe slightly different as to how a uk citizen has to go about things ..however once I was on the padron and got all the other documents together I managed to get an appointment at Police Nacional Orihuela town all arranged within 3 weeks.Im at Orihuela on the 20th for my green card, but again that has been arranged with my solicitor.Sorry if I'm making an assumption you are a uk citizen but the way things are done for EU and uk citizens seem alot different now.Good luck.

Hi,

Thanks for getting straight back to me with the information, it’s much appreciated.

Yes you’re right we are UK nationals, I was thinking about contacting the National police station at Orihuela town for appointments so will look into that.

We also have someone locally who is helping us and is constantly trying to get us an appointment at Alicante.

I have also contacted the British consulate in Alicante to see if they can shed some light on the situation. Waiting for a reply at the moment.

Will soldier on.

Thanks again, hopefully all goes well for you on the 20th.

Kind regards,

Ron.
