Hi, please delete if not allowed. My son just graduated from university last year and like most young people in the current pandemic is unemployed, bored and looking for something to do to gain a bit of pocket money! He has come up with the idea of checking on people's properties within a 3 mile radius of Orihuela Costa for those that cannot visit Spain at the moment. To avoid any trespassing, trust or legality issues he will not enter your property but send you photos or videos via Whatsapp or Messenger of the outside of your property for anyone interested and concerned on the current state of their holiday homes as not everyone has friends, neighbours or a keyholding company to do this for them! There's been an increase in break-ins and squatters targeting empty properties all over Spain so for peace of mind he can also empty your postbox of all the junkmail hanging out and send photos of your outside meter readings and car if you have one here! As it's just an idea at the moment he is offering to do this for just 6 EUR per property payable by Paypal so would welcome any feedback!

Espanglo.  Whilst its a noble idea to do a few property owners a favour for a bit of pocket money, your son is not registered to work in Spain and could find himself in big trouble.  There are plenty of charities that would appreciate his time, although unpaid.  Any property owners needing their properties checked also need to be employing a legally registered company to do so, and there are many keyholding companies who can legally check the inside and outside of the property.

Thanks for your comments. Please can you elaborate as my son is already registered to work in Spain with the Servef office and has a social security number here and as a property owner myself am I not free to pay who I want to check on my property when away? Iam not obliged to contract a legal keyholding company just to do a one-off check from outside the property without trespassing inside so surely it's the choice of the homeowner?

I misunderstood from your post, I thought that your son isn't registered to work as looking for pocket money on the side. As to who people employ, plenty of people do pay cash for a job on the side but the black market has never been legal. It is up to your son if he wants to run the risk.
