Hi

We are moving into Callosa de Segura next week, is there any English speaking doctors around that area?

Kind regards

Chris

As you don't qualify to transfer to the Spanish NHS system, it will depend on what facilities your private health insurance enables you to use.

After twelve months residence you can buy into the state system, which may or may not be cheaper than PHI. Even then, in inland areas there are very few doctor's who speak English, and most are unwilling to do so because of the risk involved in any misunderstanding. Our doctor in Rafal does speak some English, but not enough to always diagnose and prescribe for or treat any conditions, so we use Spanish, if necessary first translating and printing what we want to see her about.

Thank you.

We are sorting medical insurance next week so will wait to see.

We have approached Gran Alicante medical insurance and are also seeing Medcare.

Kind regards

Chris
