Hi All

Just bought and will be closing on Nov 15th!!  To give you some background, we have taken a 30% mortgage on the property so we will need a notary for that also (Crazy!!).  We are not flying in until the 14th so will have to do all the bank requirements then.  We do have a joint account with Bank Inter however they are not allowing us cards or online facilities until we present in person (Havent actually dealt with them yet as have been dealing with a mortgage broker).  To be honest, I dont feel 100% comfortable in transferring a large sum of money to an account that outside of the number I have no official documents for.

Also can you advise on how long the signing will take on the 15th?

Thanks

Hi.

We have been using Bank Inter for the last couple of years. Great to deal with. If you are going to transfer more than €50.000, they will charge  you an extra fee though. Two years ago the fee was 0,3%. To avoid this make several transfers. If you for instance, are going to transfer           €150.000 make several "minor" transfers. (Eg.48.000+48.000+48.000+6.000)

We opened our Bankinter account online with no problems. Transferred our money via Currencies direct in a couple of seperate transactions.

Went to the bank with original copies and were given our cards etc.

The day of going to the notary with our agent we went to the bank first to get the bank drafts.

At the notary for a couple of hours.

We sat in the notarys office for about a hour , the signing took 2 minutes , and understand your worry about sending a large amount to anyone, I was having kittens just sending it to the currency trader then on to my solicitors but it all went smoothly , good luck with your purchase 👍

Hi we bought in La Florida 5 years ago, all the money was handled by our lawyer, he arranged everything, N I E banks and utilities, Suma,  taxes and community charges, we were at the notary twice each time was less than an hour, good luck, it is daunting, speak with your lawyer or agents
