The original poster asked if the market was on as Friday 6th January is a Red day.
Markets still operate as normal on Red days and have recently been open on both Christmas Day & New Years Day.
The correct answer of yes the market is open was then given by another poster and that this is confirmed on a website

The market was open, we have just returned with big bags of fruit and vegetables. Great prices and fantastic selection. Well worth going there.

Hi. We are coming out 10th January and the market sounds good but does anyone know, is there free parking nearby, if not, do you know roughly how much a taxi from and back to Villamartín golf course area please.

It’s not that far to walk, if you’re you use the bridge next to the Banana Tree restaurant .
Just plot it on Google maps

The market has a very large car park and parking is free.

The Friday market is in Torrevieja, it was the Saturday market I was giving you directions to.
