Hi all

Just wondering if anyone who banks with Santander has applied for Residencia, and if so were you able to get stamped statements from a local branch to your Spanish property?   We have been told we need 6 months worth.

Also as we need to register on the Padron, where/how do we do this - our house is in  Los Altos.

Many thanks in advance for any help.

Shar and Mike

When I applied for Permanent residency because I'd lived here 5 years the authorities wanted 3 years bank stamped and signed statements from my Spanish bank and an official bank letter confirming that they were in fact true statements. I think that cost me about €24. Ridiculous isn't it...

Yes. Santander provided us with a stamped transaction record (for 3 months).

Yes all the banks will oblige but most will charge a standard fee. Unfortunately it's the Spanish way of life to want paperwork for everything. Banks and other institutions have these type of requests daily.

Thanks for your reply - Do you know if we can go in any local branch as when we purchased the house our account was set up for us and was done in Marbella - Which is obviously too far away for a personal visit eek

With Sabadell you usually have to go to the branch where your original account was first set up, however we applied at a more local branch for our 3 years statements and they arranged for the original branch to transfer the paperwork (which took 2 days) through and the local teller stamped and signed each sheet.

My friend, who is selling her house, has been asked by the Agencia Tributaria (tax office) for 12 months of certified bank statements from Sabadell.  Her own branch in Benijofar is closed until 24 August, so yesterday we went to the Ciudad Quesada branch, explained to the teller what we wanted (my friend doesn't speak Spanish, so I went along to help her) and he printed them off for her there and then, stamped each page, and there was no charge.

Kind regards,

Kim

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

You have that right to believe anything you like but reality in Spain sometimes is unbelievable!!! I wanted to deposit a tax rebate cheque from HMRC into my bank and took it to a local branch near my home in Benidorm....they wouldn't accept it and i could only deposit cheques at the main branch where my account was set up!!

And that is the truth..
