Traveling May 18, need to be at airport at 5:30am. Can anyone help me find a

person, reasonable in price and dependable since it's an early flight, to pick me up.

Hi,

It is much safer and often the same price, or not much more, to use a registered legal taxi. The town hall will always have phone numbers.

We would never recommend using illegal airport taxi runs.

Here's some of the ones for Orihuela (Best to ask for a price before booking):

– Asociación Radio Taxi Orihuela: 96 674 02 02

– Asociación Radio Taxistas Orihuela Costa: 96 673 30 38

Very good information!

What a lot of people don't realise is that if the vehicle is not legally registered and licensed as a Spanish taxi, and the police check it (as they often do at the airports), the passengers can be fined heavily as well as the driver. The vehicle can also be impounded.

Is it worth the risk, just to save a few Euros?

And one illegal taxi quote that I saw recently was actually more than a fully legal firm would have charged.

Be careful folks!

Geoff.
