Hi! Can anyone help me with getting water and electricity supply to a property I'm moving into on 4th September? It's never been lived in since construction, so no previous water contract. I have filled in the various forms with Hidraqua and sent the documentation I have been given by the owners of the property I'm renting from. I've been going round in circles for the last 5 days and getting nowhere. Does anyone offer a service to help with calling and speaking to the services to get a connection? Please PM if you can help. Thanks

Cheryl

I'm not sure if this will help but I would have thought it would be down to the landlord to get utiities connected, not the tenant. Happy to be corrected if I'm wrong on that.

This says that the landlord is obliged to keep the property in a habitable condition at all times which I can only guess includes having water and electric connected.

Thanks for your response, Cheryl. Yes, you're right, normally the owner of the property should be responsible for the services we have only ever needed to transfer the bills in our name when we have rented in the past. We are renting from Solvia Servicios Inmobiliarios, the property has never had water and an electricity contract so this would be a totally new connection. We knew it would be our responsibility but we never realized it would be so challenging.

Hi DeeDee,

Probably best to get a translator to help you.  There are a couple I'd recommend:

Francie Pow:

(00 34) 610 55 34 26

Sophie Johnson:

(00 34) 675 36 70 98

Kind regards,

Kim
