Re/registering a .uk car to Spanish plates

I have a villa in oedriguer area but living in london at moment, I already have my padron,do I need to become a fully fledged Spanish citizen or is the padron enough, before I can re/register my car to Spanish plates, and how long can i have my car in Spain before I have to register it as i have been told 6 months, but that is 6 months in one year, so can I have my car in Spain for last 5 months in the year and then 6 months in the next year,and to make things more complicated,I'm bringing my motorbike as well,m so do i need a certificate of conformation for that like I need for my car?

You will need a Padron to register a car (proof of address) however as a non resident you cannot legitimately be on the Padron!

Municipalities will permit and even encourage you to sign on as it brings them extra money but technically it's fraud and in theory at least there can be significant penalties for both parties.

You may keep your car in Spain for 6 months in any 12 after which it must be reregistered or removed. Post Brexit that may change - and not to your advantage.

You need a European certificate of conformity for your motorbike (as you do your car although there is no guarantee that the Spanish will accept it! ), absent that and depending on what it is it may prove impossible to import.

You cannot stay legally in Spain for more than 90 days without at least a temporary residency. The timing for having your car in Spain starts from the date of first entry, so your 11 month continual stay would not be allowed and would also make you a fiscal resident, with all that implies. Your UK number plates will be a beacon for traffic police and it will be impounded if everything is not totally legal.

I would highly recommend that you get in contact with one of the many businesses that specialize in helping people become legal in Spain so you know exactly what you can and can´t do and get yourself off the Padron asap.
