Hi, I do some work for an elderly lady who still has the old green NIE Card and needs to change this to the updated TIE Card.  She is not getting any help from her Gestors who have simply said "We don't book appointments anymore".  I have visited the website www.gov.uk/guidance/living-in-spain but that hasn't really helped either.  Looking for easy step solutions so this wonderful person is able to go visit her daughter in the UK and not get caught up in the biometric hoo-har UK are/have created.  Sensible answers only please.  My thanks in advance.

You need to make an appointment with a National Police station by using this link

She then needs to complete the EX23 to exchange the green card for a TIE.

The first appointment will be to take fingerprints, check the forms and so on. The link on how to make an appointment also shows you what documents you need.

Before going to the appointment, you need to complete 790 012 form to pay the tax due of about 12 euro. This can be done at any bank but must accompany the documentation.

About 3 weeks or so after the initial appointment, she will be called to collect her card and they will check it's her with the fingerprints she provided and give her the new TIE.

Hi

Are the two appointments in the same place these days, I remember when I got my TIE almost 5 years ago the fingerprints were done at The Immigration Office which is listed on google maps at C. de la Ebanistería, 4, 03008 Alicante and then a few weeks later my TIE card was collected from a different Foreign Office about 10 minutes (by car) away. I think it was next to a big market and car park and an Aldi. Google Maps shows the address as  C. Campo de Mirra, 6, 03005 Alicante

My renewal is looming so I could do with finding out asap.

Thanks in advance

Gary

Renewals are done at Campo de Mirra. You won't need the place where they do the fingerprinting as they've already been done.

Avoid Mondays as the car park is a market on that day.

Hi DEP003,

Feel free to contact English speaking very efficient Spanish lawyers Antonio FERNÁNDEZ BENEDITO (email: [email protected] ) and Dani FERNÁNDEZ BENEDITO (email: [email protected] ).  They are professional legal brothers.

Hope this helps!
