Satellite signals

I haven't needed to do a re-scan for the free to air channels - still getting perfect reception on all of them.

I'm not interested in Sky, but I have read recently that Sky have tightened things up in order to try and prevent people illegally receiving their premium channels.

If your free to air channels have been affected, check with friends locally. If it's just you, could the dish have become mis-aligned due to wind, could wasps have built a nest on the LNB, etc.

It has been reported in ‘’Satellite Monthly’’, that all Sky broadcasting to Europe will soon be extinct, be it via satellite or internet.

You will still be able to receive many Spanish TV channels for free which have news and excellent games shows.

I suppose it had to come to an end one day.

There have been no changes to any of the UK TV signals from any of the three uk tv satellites. IF you are having reception issues, then this will be down o either your dish being too small for where you are, your dish alignment is out, your LNB is not aligned correctly, your LNB is failing, you cable and connections are poor, you have debris or insects inside your LNB, your receiver is failing.

The only recent things are

-potential reduction is signals reaching your dish down to the heat and humidity

-sky implementing better security on their channels to remove them from cardshare systems

As for "It has been reported in ‘’Satellite Monthly’’, that all Sky broadcasting to Europe will soon be extinct, be it via satellite or internet."... well it will not happen until the next batch of satellites are required, at least 10 years or so, as they cannot change the transmit parameters of the current satellites to stop reception of Sky UK in Europe. Assuming you mean Sky UK, as there is Sky Italy and Sky Germany, which last time i checked, were both in Europe also.
