Our normal routine pre covid when picking up visitors from Alicante airport was for me and partner to drive into short stay car park area (15 mins free) on top floor, her to get out and go to arrivals gate to meet visitors while I drove out of car park and went to find somewhere to wait, usually in the restaurant car park on the road into Torrellano, two minutes from airport. When the visitors arrived, partner would alert me by text and then take visitors up to short stay car park to await my pick up.

My question is, has anything changed at Alicante which would prevent us doing this in a week's time?

You are not allowed in the airport building,  passengers only , you can wait on the concourse where you pay  for  your parking , police patrol all floors to discourage you ...!!!!

Thanks for the reply. I assume the same 15 minutes free of charge applies in the short stay car park area?

The time limit in the free drop off zone was reduced to 10 minutes earlier in the year.

Herefordjack, bearing in mind the 10 minute max stay period, then that procedure would still work fine .

With the airport parking being so cheap, I’ve never paid more than a few euros when picking anyone up I’d just use the car park and have a wee coffee in Costa while your waiting 🙂

Robscot, I’m picking family up next Sunday. We always use the multi storey car park......can we still do that? I read somewhere that passengers arriving can head for the walkway where the ticket machines are and be met there by whoever if picking them up.TIA

Dropped off today. Parking back to normal. Collect ticket and barriers down. Quite a queue on the parking area.
