I found this on the forum re transport. It's a bit old, 2016, but will give you some idea, http://www.pegoilesvalls.es/files/actividades/files/horariotransportes.pdf

You will need some form of heating over the winter period.

Pego is a relatively quiet, traditional Spanish working town.

There are some British immigrants living there, but you won't find John Smith's on tap or English football shown in the bars.

If you need work then I doubt that you will have much luck.

We live near Pego and love the area. People are lovely, got plenty of bars and restaurants, shops and supermarkets, banks and a market on a Thursday. Healthcare is good and there is an indoor pool and tennis club where other sports are played as well as Pilates, etc. The beach is not far either. I think Beneconect do runs from Alicante. Lots of Brits, French, Germans, Dutch, Belgians and the Spanish welcome us all. The passeo is a great place to meet up with friends for a drink and a chat. Oh, and we also watch Pego FC, but it's not like watching Premier or Championship football, but, nevertheless it is entertaining if you like football. We love this area and can easily go to Dénia or Javia if we want to visit a bigger place.
