If so, how did you classify and register yourself in the internet application form tick boxes, because it seems to me all the available categories of applicant link back to the Spanish pensions or benefits system, neither of which apply to me or my partner....

I'm retired, I'm tax resident in Spain and receive the UK state pension. There doesn't seem to be any option on the form which allows me to apply. Any info gratefully received.

• Retired and receiving a Spanish public pension

• Aged 55 and older and receiving a widow or widower’s pension

• Aged 60 or older a person and receiving unemployment benefits or subsidies

• Aged 60 or older and a holder or beneficiary of Spain’s Social Security System

Don't worry. Germans, Italians and other  immigrants who haven't meet those requirements are not eligible either so it's not something just against UK immigrants.

Foreign pensioners who are resident with a SIP card on the basis of holding an S1 are classed as beneficiaries of the Spanish social security system. Go to a travel agent who will sign you up for imserso.

Well, that's exactly the point I'm making. How many of us UK ex pat residents fit into any of those categories? Very few, I imagine. The key word being SPANISH public pension.

Or are you saying our UK state pensions fit into that category too? In which case, why doesn't it say so?
