Hi helpful people,

I am sorting through my things post-move to the area and am looking for a consignment shop in the Costa Blanca (preferably Benidorm  -Altea - Javea - Denia ) where I can bring quality clothes and goods to be sold on consignment.

Also, for things I cannot sell on consignment, is there a tax credit for donations to charity shops?

Thanks for your help!

Best regards,

Ilene

Hello

I have never heard of  consignment shops in Spain, sometimes you might  find a shop selling 2nd hand goods, electrical/household but not clothes.

Donating to charity shops is available in most towns/cities but  there are no financial perks for doing so, many shops are desperate for goods to sell in these difficult times...charities for animals & the elderly are very common.

You might be better getting rid of your excess clothes before you come to Spain, unless anyone posts any other suggestions.

Cheers

Dear elinspain,

Thanks for your comments. I'll look to donate them to a worthy charity shop.

The alternative is selling things on eBay Spain or on FB marketplace. I have researched both of these myself, having what we’re some very expensive items totally unsuited to life here.

I shall end up with the charity shop as from what I have seen, neither of the above options is appropriate here, unlike UK where I sold loads of things on eBay.

I believe, however, that there may be a shop in Javea which takes items and splits the profits with you, but I believe it may take a very long time and the prices achieved are minimal.

Elinspain, can you recommend some charity shops in the area, that benefit animals or the elderly? Thanks!

Hello

I dont know your immediate area as I live south of Alicante closer to Torrevieja, however if you google any of these Ive posted  below, you will see where they are located & if you've got a car, it might not be a problem

Easy Horse Care

SAT Animal rescue

Pets in Spain

..........

Reach Out

Age Concern

Help at Home Costa Blanca

-----------

Hope this helps you, I'm sure  all of the above would love donations  for their shops.

Cheers
