Hi all

Matt and I finally got to visit Petrer and Elda on Friday last, we stayed the night and walked about 28 km over the 2 days - it met all of our expectations and more.  On a sour note, based on our personal experiences only - we had the misfortune to stay at the Hotel Santa Ana...arguably the worst accommodation experienced we have ever had...ever; just sharing in case anyone was considering staying there.

We are another step closer to purchasing our home in Petrer.

Keep you posted.

Martin and Matt

Hi Kathy/ Mark: so good of you to reply, we would have liked that also. We have returned to Alicante now and we have to stay here to conduct some business. We are not sure if we will return to

Petrer before returning to Ireland on Friday next: we will let you know if our plans change. Where in Petrer are you located? We are viewing properties around Ave. Madrid. R

We are very close to the castle, we have a townhouse.

We are very happy living here, and it would be great to meet up at some point, to share our experiences.

Hi Tim70: thanks for posting and we hope we don’t offend you when we say we gave an honest objective critique (a polite way of saying we slated it) on Booking.com: the chap on the front desk was very polite but that was it. Keep well keep safe. Ma

Great to hear ye are happy there: we really liked the energy of the area: even more so when we discovered a gluten free bakery, as we are both coeliacs. We both love cooking and baking and eating!! Nice to have a treat with a coffee. We are now in Orihuela to sort out our NIEs. We will post again when we are returning to petrer. All going well we will have completed our purchase by June. Keep well keep safe. Ma

Good luck with your Nie's and purchase. I hope you will be as happy as we are.

We were very lucky, we had an excellent estate agent, everything was practically done in a day, including setting up utilities etc, a very painless process all round.

Mark loves to cook and I enjoy the eating part ha ha.

The offer is still there to meet up when you are back in Petrer.

Take care, best wishes Kathy & Mark

Hi Martin and Matt

How lucky you are to be in Alicante !   How did you find the trip from Dublin?

Hope you have an enjoyable few days there.   Best of luck with your house search.  😀

Regards

Maria
