Hello,

Can anyone tell me if Pilar was affected by the recent flooding which hit Valencia and Murcia regions.

Thanks

Lar

Lots of mud entered Pilar, overflowing from the new sluice at the top end of Calle Mayor.

Most of the mud has gone now, leaving a dusty residue.

I noticed excavation machinery working this week at the new sluice. I was driving, and couldn't look closely, so I'm not sure if they were removing mud or improving the sluice.

Hi Dazz,

Thanks for your reply, I am not familiar with the Ramblas, could you say where that is.

Hi Kelvin,

Many thanks for your reply, so it appears there were minor issues compared to sme areas I saw, I don't  suppose there are any photos?

Best regards

The impact on Pilar was minor in comparison with some nearby towns.

I drove through Pilar again today. The excavation machinery has created retention ponds at the top end of the sluice, and positioned large boulders to hold the banks in place.

If you are concerned about a particular property, let me know the street name. I will drive through and let you know about any obvious damages.

Thank you for offering to do a drive through.

Street name is Calle Esperanza Macarena, there are new builds going up there so it would be most interesting to know how the street was affected.....or not!

Thanks again, your help is most appreciated.

Best Regards

I drove through there today (3pm, 22nd October).

It is raining heavily again today. As you would expect, the building sites are quagmires.

The established houses look OK. Driving from Av. La venta, the red-painted houses on the right are slightly elevated above the road level by a few steps. Assuming that they don't have under-builds, they look fine. Further along on the left, the biscuit coloured houses are probably OK, but the high walls and gates make it difficult to see. The road itself does not show signs of previous mud inundation.
