Hello all,

We are planning to open a bank account and wonder if anyone can give some insight on rates of charges by the local banks...Sabadell, Bankinter, La Caix for example.

Would be much obliged for any information as well as experiences of the ease of dealing with them.

Thanks in advance

Thanks for your reply,

Just a little clarification, I read on the internet that Sabadell charge €35 annually around €9 per quarter for the basic account and €35 monthly for the key account. So cost obviously depends on the degree of services offered.

Would certainly like to know how easy each bank is to deal with.

Regards

Sabadell are excellent, English speaking staff in every Branch, a great Online Facility in English where you can manage and monitor your account while not here, very helpful and professional, highly recommended. As for your Utilities,  register on their Virtual Offices, go paperless and have them paid by Direct Debit.

Initially the Key Account when using our property as a Holiday Home and after making the permanent move and  getting Residencia the Expansion Account with no fees as I get my Pensions paid directly into the Account.

I am with Sabadell and pay €35 per quarter, they seem to do everything I need to ensure my direct debits are paid and their online app is pretty good.

Thank you Richard,

As it happens I have chosen Sabadell, the only question remaining is what type of account to open,  I also need one to take care of direct debits and provide a debit card.

Kind regards

LarG

Our account covers all you need, however they do charge for a second debit card for some reason.  As far as I know it’s just a normal current account, don’t think it was anything special.
