The Sailing Association of Mar Menor (SAMM Group) Motor Boat (Mobo) Group own and operate a 7 metre long inboard engine Artaban sports boat, currently berthed in the Mar Menor. Mobo Group members can take the boat out in groups, individuals or as family groups at any time of the year. We are looking to add more members to the group.

The annual costs of operating, berthing and maintaining the boat are shared, so the more members we have, the lower the cost to each individual.

It can be cheaper than you think to get out on the water! Post me if you are interested in learning more.

Hi Kelvin, the joining fee is 300 euros and we then set an annual maintenance fee to cover mooring charge (in Los Urrutias Marina), insurance and repairs, maintenance (including taking the boat out of the water once a year). We have lost a few members recently due to returning to UK, age, family reasons etc and realised we would have to increase the share of this fee for 2018 to 340 euros to cover the predicted costs. As this may not be attractive to new members we decided, for one year only, to offer a single charge of 500 euros to cover both joining and annual maintenance fee. It will also include the annual membership fee for the Sailing Association Mar Menor that organise social and racing events and access to other groups. We have also advertised in the Costa Calida Forum and yours is the 8th enquiry so, if we replace our leavers we should be able to keep the annual fee at an affordable level. We all have RYA PB Level 2 qualification, that gives you an ICC so it sounds like you won't need much and that can be arranged locally.

I'm currently in England with family but returning on Saturday for Christmas and New Year with friends. We live permanently in Pinar de Campoverde so can give you more information or meet up in the New Year.
