I am in a dilemma. So far as I know my flight is still on for the 29th, but some of my family think I shouldn’t risk it, being an octogenarian, others think I should stay here in the warm. I have already been here six months. Any thoughts on this please?

I think Ray has pretty well covered the options. For me it I would also take into account where you live in the UK. We are in South Lincolnshire and the treatment we have from local hospitals (Peterborough and Stamford) is first class. Not everywhere can say this.I'm sure your family can advise on the local NHS service where you live if you do not know already.
I would not say that the UK is less organised if fighting the situation, just behind Spain in the infection cycle. When we left Spain last Tuesday to come back to the UK there were no restrictions in Spain, by Friday all that had changed. In the last week the UK government have ramped-up their actions against the virus and they will continue to implement stricter controls as necessary.
You will be recommended to self-isolate in the UK, at the moment it's a recommendation, it may become mandatory in the next days/weeks for at-risk groups. The supermarkets are staring to prioritise on-line deliveries for said at-risk groups from next Monday and they are setting aside in-store shopping slots for the elderly and other high risk groups. I can see that it is now getting taken very seriously by most of the public.
I hope that whatever you choose to do do you remain safe, well and healthy.
Aitch.

Rosie. I am a doctor in the UK. PLEASE stay put. The UK Government has not a clue how to manage this. Air con on the plane means even social isolation is a joke. I appreciate you have rent in both countries but what value do you put on being safe. STAY IN SPAIN!!

Your answer is actually directed at the lady who last posted regarding renting in both countries. I am Rosie and am lucky enough to have my own villa here so I have a choice. My concern was medical appointments in the UK later in the summer but not urgent enough to take the risk of travelling for. My family agree with the doctor that I shouldn’t risk it. My next flight is booked for June 6th but I doubt we’ll take it. It is a dilemma for many older people.

Thank you Svalley, but when you cannot afford to be paying two rents, which comes to 1.000 euros each month. We have no option as money is running out fast.
So we have to go back, and have to believe that God will protect us. X

Air circulation on aircraft is not what your saying, it does not keep the same air.
