The ITV on my Spanish car is due to expire at the end of November this year but I won't be here intil December 6th. Will I remain legal if I book the ITV for early December and the car is off the road after the expiry date? Will I be able to drive to the test centre if I have thr car booked in?

You cannot drive a car if the ITV has expired and it should be sent by grua to the test centre if it has run out. You will get people telling you to risk it as the fine is quite low.i Also if you have a test booked you could use that as an excuse but it is not an official policy. You can take it in up to a month before but not drive it a day after.

(How unlucky would you have to be to be stopped on that particular day on that particular route)

The 'potential' fine is €200 reduced to €100 if paid within 20 days, no other consequence whatsoever.

Cheaper than a Grua for sure and as said you'd have to be the unluckiest person on the Costa Blanca to get stopped on that day on that journey and unluckier still for it to be by a cop who'd had a row with his wife that morning so was in a bad mood and didn't wave you on your way with a finger wag and a warning.
