Hi. Does anyone have any experience of getting compensation from Ryanair under the EU261/2004 legislation. Last Sunday we were delayed by 4 hours as our incoming flight attempted to land twice at Murcia and after two failed attempts diverted to Alicante. The plane then got stuck at Alicante as the runway was blocked causing the delay.

When we finally got on board the pilot claimed the weather was two windy and the instruments on board had told them to abort the landing - twice!

The issue is 5 minutes after our plane didn’t land another Ryanair plane safely landed as did a Jet 2 plane and an easyJet plane.

I have claimed on the Ryanair website and they have said “out of our control due to weather” and so no payout.

I’ve read elsewhere that airlines can’t use weather as an excuse unless it is extreme - which it definitely wasn’t last Sunday. We were sunbathing outside at Murcia airport waiting for Ryanair to decide what to do

Can anyone help with any tactics on getting Ryanair to pay what is due?

Thanks

Phil

Follow the procedure on the Martin Lewis site, you should get it sorted that way.
