DHL Delivery from M&s

If you order from M&S .com, you may find that on the item web page it will state 'all taxes and duty' included, which is correct. If the delvery is from DHL you may get an email from them requesting payment for tax and duty. We thought it was a scam, and did not pay it online. When DHL delivered we had to pay an extra amount.

If you get an email from DHL requsting this extra amount ring this M&S number 91114 2115, who will then contact DHL to cancel the charge before delivery

M&S immediately refunded us, it is an ongoing problem with DHL

Thanks Bill.

I wonder whether this is an error by a local DHL branch, because I´ve received 3 orders from M&S over the last couple of months and I´ve never been asked to pay anything extra. When I received notification of my last delivery, there was a request for additional information:

"Attention: In order to release your shipment from Customs, we require your DNI and clearance authorization. Failure to provide this information may result in a delivery delay and storage cost for you. To view your delivery options and provide your clearance information, click here".

DHL´s latest email notification also included this note:

"Notice: As of July 1, 2021 shipments originating from outside the European Union may be subject to Value Added Tax (VAT) regardless of shipment value. For more information please visit https://www.dhl-eucustoms.com."

I don´t think the EU´s change to VAT will affect M&S deliveries, as the purchase price includes VAT, but if people are charged extra, they should check this direct with M&S too.
