Not sure where to put this message so trying here.  Can anyone help me identify what each of the valves in the attached photo of our pool installation are for and what they do?  It is a salt water pool.  I think I have figured the first 3 labeleld B ( Backwash? filters the bottomn of the pool open with the other 2 labelled F (drain at bottom of pool I think and S - skimmer I think switched off).  I think the far right marked D is straight into the drain but I cant figure out what the I and C are and what they do.  Many thanks

I can't see all your pipes, but on ours the I means impulsion (flow to the jets). I don't know about C, but it is connected to the Impulsion line. (Ours is a chlorine pool).

Ours is usually used with the skimmer and bottom connection both half open, so water is extracted via the skimmer and via the bottom drain.

Many thanks that is really useful - now I can label the "I"  as well.  Most people we know who have pools say they have 5 valves not six including our neighbour who also has a salt water pool - he also only has 5 valves so it is a mystery!  Thank you so much again.

Re the C ... does your pool have a cascade ?   If you close the I and open the C, where does the water come out ?

Many thanks.  No pool does not have a cascase but the pool has been made ready for a heating pump so maybe it is for that?  Good idea and will turn off the I and turn on C and see what happens.  Many thanks again for your time.  Much appreciated.

F should be the Fondo valve.  When turned off (gojng across ghe pipe) it provides extra suction through the pool side skimmers and is used to help clean the pool.

If not cleaning the pool it should be in the open position (laying along the pipe).  If you have a Pool Cleaner he/she will know and be able to advise

Excellent thank you.  That is very helpful.  When cleaning/ vacuuming the pool I turn both the F (Fondo valve/bottom drain?) and S (skimmer) off and turn the B on for maximum vacuum.  Seems to work so guessing it is ok.  After vacuuming I turn the B (suction) to off , turn the F full on and S skimmer about 3/4 on but not sure if I should turn this on to full too.   Thanks for your help.
