All the info you need is in this article with links and explanations of the forms.

If you would rather get someone to do it for you then most solicitors will charge around 60 to 80 euros to obtain the license but you will still have to ensure you are compliant and still register afterwards with the Guardia Civil to register your guests.  Don't forget to take out holiday-let insurance with public liability cover (Schofields do a good policy).

HI, I started purchasing a property last November and was told I could apply for my tourist licence when the property was legally mine - I got the keys in February and the Sun Lawyer are charging 250 for the service have now said that Pilar de Horadada are putting licences on hold at the moment ? Does anyone know anything about this and what to do for the best - many thanks

All I can possibly suggest is that to keep yourself within the law as getting more strict with renters.

Can I ask is it licence for renting being put on hold as I know Padrons are being put on hold

Hi thank you for reply and yes it is a rental licence I am trying to obtain. I am not thinking of renting without this plus you can't even advertise now without a number. The problem is I feel a bit let down as when we purchased the solicitor did say it would take 3/4 months to get a licence but no mention that we may not get one at all plus we planned to rent at least at the end of season August/September but now not sure we ever can?

The last I heard was that Pilar Town Hall were going to review their decision 'soon' to not issue the certificates needed for the License application.   I have no idea when 'soon' will be, so but I suspect they will limit the number when they do start to issue them so keep asking at the Town Hall every couple of months or so. Good luck.
