Hi, we own a holiday home and need to have Spanish Wills drawn up.  Can anyone recommend cost-effective solicitor to do this for us?

Notaria de José Carlos Pérez Juan, Almoradi town centre. British assistant does the donkey work, they provide the will in Spanish and English language and register it with the appropriate authority. Cost me and my partner about 70€ each.

No commun wills in Spain. Resgistered wills previal over any other wills or said to be. They cannot be appealed before any court.

I can second this recommendation as we did our wills with them a few years ago. Very helpful staff and simple to do.

What’s the difference, why does he charge such a low fee vs solicitor if the wills are truly the same?

Because one is a solicitor and you pay solicitor rates! The other is a notary which funny enough is higher than a solicitor as he was a solicitor who advanced to become a notary. It will be his team member that draws it up, then overseen by the notary. If you go to a solicitor and pay his exorbitant fee the will still has to be overseen by a notary and registered by them, so you are cutting out the middle man. We too used same notary in Almoradi, he comes well recommended.

Pauline
