We have recently rescued a young female Alsatian cross. She has a very thick coat and pants a lot during the day and night and we were wondering if it would be worth getting her coat cut to help her keep cool? Can any one recommend a local service? Thanks in advance.

Hi,  if you don't mind a short trip I can highly recommend Tidy Paws in San Miguel. I've got a shepherd x who has more fur than a polar bear😂. He has a double coat short under long outer, last visit he had his undercoat removed, no shaving, it's brilliant, hardly any coat shedding and it's been about 6 weeks. My pup was there for 4 hours. Cost €50 including tip

Phone 619277654  Called Filipinos San Miguel,

Please do not get her shaved her type of coat does not grow back properly.

Good luck.

i  I can highly recommend Tidy Paws

You're very welcome. If you haven't got a pool get her a paddling pool put some rubber floor covering on bottom from diy store so claws don't go through. Cool feet cooler dog.

Not trying to teach you how to suck eggs😊 it's what I do for my hairy pup and it works.

Hope your happy with your groom

I have to agree with one of the replies above, get the dogs fur groomed to get all the loose hair removed but never shaved, they have a double coat for a reason, it’s for protection from the sun too!
