FYI:

Freeview is UK TV via a TV aerial, and is not available in Spain (it barely covers the UK!=ç)

Freesat is UK TV via a TV aerial.

Although much of the content is the same...

You cannot use a Freeview box with a satellite dish, or a Freesat box with a Tv aerial, as they are totally different broadcast methods.

I am just mentioning this as this week alone I have been out to two people who wanted me to connect up their Freeview boxes to a satellite dish, as they tried and could not get it to work...having read on "the internet" and Facebook posts that people were getting Freeview here in Spain!

Is there anything else apart from the gigantic satallite dishes that look like they could land a plane in your nextdoor neighbours garden ??

Hi Sat and PC Guy, sorry for the confusion, I know about Freeview v Freesat, my mistake.

Thanks for the reply, Tim

Nope, not if you want Freesat...which is via a satellite and needs a dish of the appropriate size for your location in Spain...unless you move to northern France or to the uk!

And 1.4 is not "gigantic" when compared to the 1.8s and 2.4m dishes required in Spain with the previous uk tv satellites - or the 4m that places like Greece used for UK TV...

Why don't you use fibre and get your channels via internet - tv mucho-  no dish just need smart telly.

Our house is only used for about 3 months a year, and not that much for watching TV so I think a one off payment and Freesat would be the best option for us. Does anybody know the smallest dish we could use in the campoverde area?

Thanks Pete, but you mention 1.4 and 1.6 which doesn't tell me the smallest size but the choice of 2 and Sat and PC Guy is replying to a question from somebody else and does not say anything about the smallest dish size required for Campoverde. If a 1.4 dish loses some channels then I would say it is too small so probably no good for Campoverde. Many thanks for your replies though.

Regards Tim Patrick
