Has anyone make the trip from the UK to Spain by road via France since Christmas with the latest covid requirements? Be interested to hear of your experiences. I am confused about what covid test I will need and how long it needs to be done before entering France. Where you told to isolate for two days or did you drive with any overnights stops?

I am a Spanish resident, hold my TIE, Spanish driving license etc. I travelled to the UK mid Nov for the birth of my first grandchild and stayed for Christmas therefore my compelling reason to travel through France is to return to my home in Spain. To clarify I am not a resident in the UK).

Many thanks

Yes picked this up via Le Shuttle earlier. It appears a Brit was refused boarding via the tunnel on the 28th on his way to Belgium being a Belgium resident. Interestingly other Brits got through on that day according to another site I am on. The French Government web site has not altered its conditions as of one hour ago, and if I follow those conditions I have a compelling reason to travel irrespective of my citizenship as I qualify under the Withdrawal Agreement. It would appear if I took a ferry to either Belgium or the Netherlands I would be able to enter under EU directives on covid and then be able to transit to Spain. Confusing or what! If covid doesn't get me stress will! Thanks for the comment anyway. Have a good new year.
