I can’t comment on cock roaches but surly ants are looking for food.  If you leave the work tops perfectly clean then you should not have any ants.

Flour left in a cupboard can be infested with tiny insects. I keep my flour in a Tupperware container in my fridge... best place for it in Spain.

If you found cock roaches in your bathroom you would assume that they are coming in through the drains.  Put the plugs in before going home, possibly put a piece of squashed up tin foil into the overflow hole. Turn all water off before leaving.

I remember years ago seeing what I thought were mice droppings in our saucepan cupboard, later was told that they could have been cockroach droppings. I had a piece of board fitted to the rear of the cupboard and never saw any droppings since.

Leaving properties for longish periods of time is unfortunate because you have no way of knowing if the rain has penetrated during a wet period. More than likely the sun will have dried any wet areas in the interim. It pays to have someone to come in on a regular basis to check the place.

Thanks for the update re pest control

What we have all been waiting to hear... yay
From 1 st July 2020 , tourists from other countries will be able to enter Spain . Spain will welcome international tourists from JulyInternational tourism will start again in Spain in July, Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has just announced.

Speaking to the nation in a live TV broadcast, Sr Sánchez said Spain would 'guarantee that tourists would not run any risk' – and also that they would not bring 'risks' to Spain.

He explained that the government would produce a 'health safety seal' for tourism.

WELL!   That is wonderful news.

Thank you for informing us.

I shall race upstairs and pack my suitcase!  Such good news but I have said so all along!

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

Hi ray,

I just had an email from easyJet, informing me my contact details have been hacked but not my credit card details and to watch out for any suspicious looking emails.

I did nothing more than delete my card details off their website and change that password, scamming emails usually look cheap and poorly set out, usually addressing you as dear customer, never by name...

It’s also worth noting I still haven’t had a refund from flights cancelled in early April...

Hope this helps someone a little

Terry

Watch your credit card statements folks, Easyjet have had a data breach which is currently being investigated by the UK ICO (data privacy supervisory authority) ....2,208 credit cards details taken.

Stay well (and keep taking those vitamins)!

I received an email from Easyjet identified as having my data breached. No credit card or passport details hacked but it says " they do know where I am flying from and where I am flying to also when the flight was booked and amount paid"

I will watch my credit card statement all the same.

Thanks Rosemarie. Sound advice. I'll do that next time on planned absences. Our last one was a difference of circumstances and access due to the virus so the 3 week absence became sustained. The advice still holds good whatever the duration.

Thanks

Or ask for a new card, rescinding the previous one with your bank, Pauline. They are keen to work with customers on such cases. Bit of a pain if it is linked to other channels such as PayPal or direct debits, but safer?

Hope it works through without detriment.

Cheers,

Dave

Good thinking Terry, at least that limits the EasyJet attack vector.

Wider containment may also help...if those details are sold on the dark web for exploit elsewhere e.g. PayPal or even natively with 'buyer not present'. We call them attack vectors or ways to exploit. Cutting them down helps.

It's just my work to defend employee colleagues and their customers as an InfoSec person. Not bigging it up, but if I can help just 1 person it would have been worthwhile. I would always do that for free. We have children too and we seek to protect them.

D stay safe and well out there
