All done and dusted, quite quick & painless. Here's how it went for me if anyone's interested or worried about going. I know Jim has excellent guide for this, but I thought I'd share how it went for me.
You need a Picture for your licence which is smaller than a passport picture, handily there is a photography place round the corner who did it for me, 5.50€
I got to the medical centre just before 5, a simple medical, eye test & computer game looking test 30€, out by 5:30. We got by on my little Spanish and their much better English.
Then into the gestoria next door, I presented the form the medical centre gave to me along with the residency card and English licence and said "Necesito cambiar mi licencia de inglés por español" in my best Spanish while doing the "driving a car" mime. The chap filled out the forms, handed them to me to sign and gave me a form that allows me to drive while waiting for the licence to come, he kept my English licence, 50€ out in ten minutes.
So a total of 85.50€ and 45 minutes including having my picture taken. I've been putting it off since getting my residencia a couple of months ago, but it's really nothing to be worried about.
