I have just read this.. Spain’s Tourism Minister has left the hopes of thousands of Britons yearning to return to the Costas in tatters today when she said the UK’s coronavirus infection rate “still had to improve” before they’d be allowed to visit. Fingers crossed

I can hear the champagne corks popping as we speak by certain people on here
Hi Rob, The Spanish PM today, confirmed that foriegn tourists were to be welcomed with immediate effect commencing July 1st .
That gives The UK Coronavirus infection rate a full month to improve.
I take it the actual amount of improvement required was not specified by The Spanish Tourism Minister, therefore the possibility of travellers from the UK allowed entry into Spain from July1st is still a very real one.
Dirsantapola, dont worry if those corks have been popping they just could be extremely premature. 😏

Dear Dlrsantapola ,
No one here would want to celebrate at this disappointing news.
For people who live and work here all year round it is important that holiday home owners and tourist come to Spain as often as possible because only then can there be sufficient business to keep the local economy functioning. That in turn ensures services to continue to improve and be provided for all of us.
However people here want to be safe and want to ensure that all visitors to Spain are safe and want to avoid Costa Blanca becoming the Corona Virus hub of Europe.
I do understand peoples disappointment but this is not a punishment but a necessity to keep residents and visitors from all countries safe. Spain would be negligent in the extreme to take not take account of every ones safety.
Hopefully infection rates will continue to reduce in the UK by people following the good advice.
Best wishes and hope all who want to travel to Spain can do shortly.
Vivienne
I have mixed feelings about this, on one hand I look forward to seeing people being able to return to their holiday homes in Spain and on the other I want to see a big drop in infections and deaths in both the UK and in Spain before the borders are open, keeping my fingers crossed.

I totally agree with you
This post that was quoted has been deleted.
RayD , as you agree, 31 days is a long time considering the speed at which things have altered this past 75 days, or so .
Should the word 'zero' in the quoted post be replaced by the word 'one'?

Not the first time the poster has aimed barbs at members he disagrees with and surely won't be the last either.
If banning UK tourists and holiday home owners (like the poster) helps Spain contain the virus and prevents as much as one single death then personally I'll be popping champagne corks all day everyday.
If you want to blame anybody for it then I suggest you look to Boris's ill begotten, late, and half ar5ed 'lockdown', and the elements of the great British public who still don't seem to get it.
Good morning Movington.
The points put forward over fears of an upturn of the infection rate in Spain due to the upcoming influx of travellers from many external countries is a very valid and understandable one, however, it is an issue the Spanish Government and their Scientific advisors have assessed and made that descision to allow the recommencement of incoming travel.
A number of Members of this Forum have voiced their own opinions on that descision, mainly being that they would prefer such influx to be delayed ,stating varying times scales of their choice.
Some of these 'opnions' have been stated in a friendly manner, expressing their understanding of the frustration felt from people wishing to travel back to Spain during the second half of this year and beyond.
Some of the opinions have been stated in a not so friendly and understanding manner.
Through following the posts concerning this issue it is understandable to see how the poster, you have specifically referred to, ,and others, feel as if they are being stigmatised and the usual Brit bashing is gleefully applied by a few members, therefore the frustration of members such as the OP, the member you refer to, and many others, could be viewed as being quite understandable.
