Can someone tell me the name of this tree please? I thought it was a weeping fig but I don't think it is. I have two in large pots and the leaves are yellowing and falling off. I'm either overwatering or not watering enough? I have seen this tree in numerous places, abandoned in pots and they look lush compared to mine! Would like to know how to care for them.

Hi, your right, it's a fig...

What position is it in? How often do you feed it?

When we moved into our casa we had one in a pot, and it looked just like that...

Now its lush and beautiful... our problem.. they love sun, a nice breeze..  a little water each day, and fed with a flower encouraging food, (my choice) and I got rid of the ants from the pot with an ant bait trap.

They are tough, if you let them.. good luck.

Thanks so much for all the info . They are in big pots in full sun and I water them sporadically, often soaking the pot then forgetting them so that's not good and I don't feed them which I will start to do. They looked dead when we bought the house but they came to life with some watering so we re potted them but now it looks like I'm killing them again!

They just need a good feed after the shock of being moved.. when they show signs of new leaves, and they will... dont be tempted to trim.. you will be surprised after a feed how fast they will grow.. good luck..

Thanks for the info. As it's in a large pot in full sun how much and how often should I be watering it? I took the advice of the lady that said to give it a feed and it does seem to have perked up and stopped losing its leaves. I'm still in the English mentality of watering until it comes out the bottom of the pot!

Would love to know how it's getting along.

Hi, I have taken to spraying the leaves at night with water and watering the pot a couple of times a week. Also giving them a weekly feed. They've certainly improved, leaves no longer yellowing and growing new ones, so a great improvement!
