What documents are needed to be presented when hiring a car at the airport in the UK. I have a Spanish driving licence and residency, thank you for any info.

Your Spanish licence, passport and of course, credit card.
I strongly advise you take out your own excess insurance policy with a specialist company. Details, for example, in car hire section on Martin Lewis website MoneySavingExpert. Should cost about £20 for a week's cover. Then when you go to the desk to pick up your car and they give you the hard sell to buy theirs at a ridiculous price, you just flash your policy and say "no thanks, I'm already covered".
