Does anyone know of a shop or anywhere that does carpet binding? I have a beautiful wool rug that I’ve had for 20 years and it is only the edging that makes it look scruffy so I’d like to get a new edging sewn round it. Any help appreciated.

Hi, sorry cant help with binding, but I have big carpets down (from fitted in Uk house) and instead of binding, cut them to a perfect edge(as were'nt being fitted carpets) and I put pva glue to the back of them, about inch deep, 2 coats, dried clear and wear well, no pulls, even with upright dyson going over edges. Hope it helps.

Regards

Pauline.

Thank you. The carpet is already bound round the edges but needs another layer to fill where it has thinned.

You could try Carpet Heaven in Los Montesinos.  Hes very helpful and might be able to do it or get it sent off to be done.
