Assuming it's related to car hire, and you mean fair fuel policy, it normally means that you return the car with the same amount of fuel you picked it up with.

Thanks Jim. So does that mean you pay for the fuel the car has in already?

What it normally means is that provided you return the car with at least the same amount in the tank as when you got it, they don't make any charge for fuel.

This is far fairer than having to pay an inflated price for a tank full of fuel, which you might not use, and then trying to return it with an empty tank.

Hi Carol, When we hire an airport car we choose full to full fuel option. the company charge you for a full tank, the charge is inflated but they should tell you if you return it full then they will credit your card with the full amount. We usually find this takes a few days. Please read all of the T&C's, all of the hire companies are adding a charge for airport pickup of the car, they will hold an amount on your card if you have your own insurance and decline their extra insurance.

Hope this helps.

Hi there, the key things to watch for is “full to empty” or prepaid fuel this is where the rental company provide you with a car full of fuel but you return it empty they can charge as much as €80 locally for the pleasure often on cars that hold a max of €40-€50 too.

So b st choose a company that does full to full or return with same amount. I’ve been using Drivalia booking via zest and they have been fine.

A number of the car hire firms are also asking that you fill the car within 10/15 k from the airport and provide proof that you complied till reciept
