Hi everyone,

Does anyone know if the new 2018 healthcare law (free healthcare for all ...) will alter the need to purchase 'private healthcare insurance' in order to obtain your residentia?  Also, does it now mean that a permanent SIP card can be obtained in place of temporary ones for new residents who have still to obtain their residentia ?

Any comments would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Unless the law relating to obtaining a residency certificate is amended, and I've not read anything about this, then the new healthcare law isn't relevant to citizens of EU member states regarding residency requirements.

Unless Valencia issue appropriate instructions to their health centres, it isn't relevant to SIP cards either.

It will be interesting Kim, and although it doesn't affect me personally, I'll be interesting in how Valencia react.

I'd also make the point that CAB very often publish poor, and sometimes downright incorrect, interpretations of the various laws. Don't believe everything you read on their website.
