If you look on the bins there may be a notice on them showing a picture of a sofa , lamp etc. with a phone number. It's in Spanish but if you know a bit if basic Spanish you should see a day of the week on there (in our area it's Thursday). You can phone or pop into the town hall to arrange for them to collect the sofas - If you put them by the bins the night before, as long as the council are notified in advance, they will collect them.

It is illegal to leave furniture or other things like that by the bins at any other time unless it is a collection day and the council have been notified, as it is not fair on residents who live by the bins to have to put up with dumped items that can stay there for days or weeks.

Hope this helps. If there isn't a notice on the bins then just go into the town hall and ask if they can collect old furniture.

If they are old and beyond reasonable use due to their condition then I would follow Jan's advice. However, if they are simply being replaced and are still in good condition then I would suggest you contact one of the Charity Shops near you as they might be interested and would collect them from you while you are helping a good cause at the same time.
