Does anyone know if there is a standard charge to obtain the TIE document.  We have already obtained the necessary bank forms and had the photos done, and we have been informed that we have to at attend Alicante and bring the necessary forms and 300 euros.  Our friends have been quoted 40 euros each to have there TIE done.

Ouch!  I assume that you're using a gestor or lawyer to help you?  Typically, a gestor would charge around €70 per person for a new application (EX-21), less for a residency to TIE exchange (EX-23).  The cost to do the latter yourself is €12 per person.

For €300, your 'helper' should be collecting you from home and taking you to Alicante!  Like all these services, it's best to shop around and ask for recommendations.

Kind regards,

Kim

300 Euros is excessive.  I can provide this service for a hell of a lot less including making the necessary appointment in Alicante or you could just follow the comprehensive link thats kicking around on here somewhere and DIY. Jim

If you live near Pinar de campoverde,  Gregg will help you get your TIE for 2012 euros.  He is based at the the Estate Agent at the top of Planza Florida

Think you've made a mistake with his charges.

I thought you meant 2 x 12€! Still very steep. I paid 60€ including transport from home and back both times. Mind was an exchange from green CUE card.

This is still too expensive.  Why not use my step-by-step guide and do it yourselves for €12 each? Lots of us have already done it successfully:
