Does anyone have experience of applying for the newly instigated Nomad Visa or know of a local agency/lawyer that can assist?

The Digital Nomad Visa has only recently come into being therefore you may not find anyone who has experience of the journey. You may find the following links helpful:

I was wondering if you've made any progress on your Digital Nomad stuff?
My family (of four with Dogs a cat and all the other side orders) are planning on getting the Digital Nomad visa and head over in the summer but there's not a great deal of information from people who have actually done it.

In the absence of personal experiences, you might find the contents of these links helpful. Apologies if you have already seen them:

We will hopefully be embarking on our own journey through the DNV application process soon, so I shall post updates as and when things happen.
One caveat though; it'll be done over in Andalucia so local variations in process may come into play but the broader aspect should still be the same.
PS: Anyone interested in buying a south-facing 2 bed apartment in San Bartolome?
I'll do you a great deal...😁

Hi John
I too am also looking to apply for the Digital Nomad Visa, here's what I have found out so far:
- Details are still being finalised and should be published by end of March.
- Many lawyers are taking applications now, but it will cost you approximately 1800 or 1900 euros if you use their services, but this will probably mean a better chance of it all going through correctly
- If you are in Spain then you will get a longer visa (say for example if applying through the Embassy in London or Edinburgh in the UK).
- There is a whole list of things you need (these are widely published on lots of lawyer's sites)
Then of course there is the highly complex piece re income tax - I'd suggest you speak to a tax adviser on that, I have some information from mine, but I am still piecing this together!
kind regards
Brian

Or do I have to make an an appointment and go all the way up to Madrid from Cabo Roig?) If anyone can answer this, then that would be really helpful?

I have had email contact with a local English speaking lawyer and will be meeting with him in late March when we next return to Spain.
However from his emails I am not too sure he knows much more then the rest of us.
I want to use a third party because the time involved in the paperwork will impact on my working hours.
As for tax, I have worked overseas on several occasions so it is not really a problem.
I will share my experiences and hope others do as well so future applicants will be better prepared.

Brian,
You application needs to be lodged with the local Ayuntamiento in the town where you wish to reside.
The suggestion is that turnaround time should be "less than 2 weeks" & if you haven't heard by then, work on the assumption that it's been successful.
If true, this is obviously a massive plus.

Hi John
Yes, we are waiting with anticipation to understand the final details so we can start the application process. Any information you get would be greatly appreciated! I have my own limited company so just trying to work out through my accountant the best plan to move my tax affairs to Spain should I successfully get the Nomad Visa.
Hi Stan
Thanks for the steer on being able to go through our local Ayuntamiento, I wasn't aware we could do this and was thinking we would need to go to Madrid! Our house is in Lomas de Cabo Roig, so am I right in thinking this would be Orihuela? I have spoken with a lawyer and they confirmed that if you do not hear back within the 2 weeks then you can assume it is successful.
Many thanks to you both!
regards
Brian
Hi there,
I'm sure everyone has seen that the DNV is now live!
I think I've managed to find the form online: Digital Nomad Visa Form ...to get the process underway and I've found a pretty good site that breaks it down.
I'm going to make a timeline/diary post of me going through the process and hopefully that will help anyone else doing the same.
Any input (shooting down or otherwise) would be welcome.
